OBA Designs by NJE
OBA Designs by NJE is a fashion brand that’s rewriting the rules of luxury—where African heritage meets bold design, and high fashion doesn’t come with a luxury price tag.
The word OBA holds great significance and translates to king in the Yoruba language. Launched in 2012 and born from a deeply personal journey of reinvention and resilience, OBA Designs by NJE creates affordable luxury fashion that authentically incorporates African and global materials like Ankara, raffia, chiffon, net and beadwork into everyday statement pieces.
Our garments are designed for real women—bold, stylish, and dynamic—with flexible construction that embraces fluctuating bodies without compromising on edge or elegance.
We’re not just dressing women—we're empowering them with pieces that speak to identity, culture, and confidence.
Rooted in Faith
OBA Designs by NJE was born from a moment where faith met creativity and purpose was reborn. This brand is more than fashion—it’s the outward expression of an inward transformation. It is proof that when you follow the voice of God and lean into your gifts, you create from a place of truth and power.
Although I did not always realize it, this journey has been spiritual. I believe God has already assigned our purpose through His Word. And because each of us is unique, our paths to fulfilling that purpose are equally unique. Our gifts are not to be silenced, minimized, or abandoned.
Never give up what God placed in you to do for someone else’s dream—like a 9-to-5 job. You are unique, your gifts are special, and the world needs to experience what you carry.
A significant milestone in this journey came when our very first fashion show aligned with the weekend of my baptism—a powerful moment of spiritual and creative renewal that affirmed this mission.
Fashion With Purpose
We reject the idea that fashion is shallow. Instead, we use it as a powerful tool for storytelling, empowerment, and faith. Every piece is created with intention—to remind women of their strength, beauty, and divine identity.
Matthew 18:12–14
“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? ... In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.”
This scripture reminds us of God's relentless and unconditional love—a love that searches and restores. No earthly love compares—not from a man, a woman, or even our wildest dreams. It is a love that is always available and always calling us back home.
At OBA Designs by NJE, we create not just for the spotlight but to clothe women in boldness. To honor African heritage. And to remind each person that they are seen, pursued, and deeply loved by the Creator.
